The project covers the construction of GSM-R on 13843.914 km of railway lines throughout Poland (to the full range of GSM-R development) and the installation of a fiber optic cable on 202.013 km of railway lines and will consist of 3 basic tasks (separate contracts): • Construction of GSM-R network; • Construction of a backbone network; • Construction of the network management system (Umbrella) As part of the construction of the GSM-R system, the following activities will be carried out: • Preparatory work, including the development of construction projects and obtaining construction permits for about 1.0 thousand locations of radio communication facilities (OR) and the development of implementing projects for about 2.0 thousand locations. • The construction of a fibre optic cable with connection to the OR, on 10963.477 km of railway lines, including 10761.464 km of railway lines on which full GSM-R construction is planned and 202.013 km on which only fibre optic cable is planned (on railway lines planned for full GSM-R, 3082.450 km length, fibre optic cable already exists or will be built as part of separate projects); • Construction of GSM-R system for 13843.914 km of railway lines, including: • Construction of GSM-R system for ETCS level 2, over 3012,909 km of railway lines; • Construction of GSM-R system for voice function, long 10831.005 km of railway lines; • Purchase of 250 MS (Mobile Station) radios. As part of the construction of a backbone network: design and construction of backbone network, through delivery and assembly of DWDM and IP-MPLS devices in 12 locations (backbone network nodes – ORR), including 10 locations designated by the contractor and 2 locations designated by the contracting authority (OC1 Warszawa and OC2 Poznań). As part of the construction of the network management system (Umbrella): integration of network management systems for existing facilities with the newly built system with the necessary applications
