The “Preserve Me +” project aims to provide support to persons working in economic activities for which temporary restrictions have been introduced for their implementation by an act of a state authority during the period of a state of emergency or an emergency epidemiological situation.The funds under the project are granted in accordance with the terms and procedures of Council of Ministers Decree No 328 of 14 October 2021. The right to receive compensation is provided by employees who take unpaid leave under Article 160. paragraph 1 or Article 173a(2) of the Labour Code, for the duration of the temporary restrictions imposed on the performance of the activity specified in the act of the State authority, as well as self-employed persons under Article 4(3)(1) and (2) of the KSO, for the period during which they have interrupted an activity because of the temporary restrictions imposed on it, and are insured in economic activities, in accordance with the Code List, approved in an order of the Minister of Labour and Social Policy.Compensations are admissible from the date of entry into force of Council of Ministers Decree No 328-07.09.2021. The project foresees to support at least 60 000 workers, employees and self-employed persons. The implementation of the activities will also provide indirect support to the employers concerned to maintain the employment of their employees, helping them to recover more quickly after the measures imposed have been lifted. In order to achieve the stated objective, the activity ‘Supporting employers and self-insurers through compensation to safeguard the employment of employees in undertakings operating in an economic sector directly affected by the cessation of economic activity as a result of the imposition of containment measures against the spread of COVID-19 by an act of a public authority’ is envisaged.
