The aim of the project is to strengthen and support the mental and social ability of people in employment in the exceptional and post-corona-related situation. The project will develop permanent and effective regional approaches to support mental health, as well as support working communities to find ways to strengthen the mental health of staff. The operating models will be designed to act also in the aftermath of a crisis as the maintenance and improvement of the mental and social capacity of people of working age. The project strengthens the means and competence of workplaces and entrepreneurs to strengthen the mental health of employees and entrepreneurs, the know-how and cooperation of social and health care operators, and the functional and structural flexibility of health and social services organisations by building regional operating models. The aim of the project is to:1. To strengthen and support the mental and social ability to work and function in the workplace.2. Reduce mental health-based disability (sickness absences and new disability pensions), thereby increasing employment rates and productivity and reducing the cost of incapacity for work. Objectives 1 and 2 are met by:(a) Building regional models of cooperation between social and health actors to support mental health and assessing the effectiveness of the policies developed on the mental and social ability of people in working life. (b) Strengthening ways of supporting return to work in the workplace and the coordination responsibility and know-how in support of work capacity of occupational health care in relation to mental disordersc) Strengthening the skills and cooperation of social security actors and organisations in support of mental health. (d) supporting SMEs and public sector jobs to choose ways to strengthen the mental health of staff; and psychological resilience by encouraging jobs to reach for the Good Mind brand) by supporting the resilience of entrepreneurs and the well-being of their minds in the economic uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 crisis, by strengthening their mental health skills and skills3. Provides information to support decision-making, the development of health and health services and the strengthening of the mental health of workplaces at regional and national level.The project is carried out in two sub-projects. The activities of sub-project 1 are based on regional, interregional and national network cooperation, which utilises the cooperation networks of the ESF-funded YÖKE project, which ended on 31 March 2020, and the operational integration solutions developed in each region (province). The main target groups of the project in the regions are occupational health care, specialised medical care (especially psychiatry) and basic mental health and substance abuse services. Development work is taken forward at regional, interregional and national level. The effectiveness of the operating models to be built through network cooperation is assessed and rooted in the whole of Finland. The project produces a national recommendation to support the promotion of mental health at workplaces, as well as cooperation between various health care actors in the treatment of mental disorders and the prevention of disability. These can be used to support decision-making and the development of health care services at regional and national level. The project develops regional health care chains and cooperation models created on the basis of them to support mental health. Models are assessed and made available to all.The project will strengthen the means of return to work and the coordination of occupational health care’s work capacity support, and the competence and cooperation of social and health care operators and organisations in supporting the mental health of people of working age. Mental health cooperation networks will be created in the regions to improve customer-oriented cooperation. Regional co-operation will increase and the roles of different social and health care actors in the treatment of mental disorders will be clarified and knowledge will be increased in the treatment of mental disorders, support for work capacity and networking. Care chains, cooperation models and regional cooperation support more effective, comprehensive and customer-oriented mental and social work capacity of people in employment. The mental and social capacity and support of people in employment will be improved in the exceptional situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.The strengthening of responsibilities for coordination in occupational health care will benefit all: the provision of work capacity support services to the customer of working age is made available in a timely manner and, in particular, after a long period of sick leave, subsidised return to work also means financial benefits for the working age; professionals working in mental health services can focus on their core competence, i.e.
