The project aims at the installation of a ETCS (European Train Control System) level 1 system on localised sections of the Athens-Thessaloniki-Promachonas railway axis and the operational integration and performance of this system on the entire axis (except the Tithorea-Domokos section built by another project) including the Oinois-Halkis branch. The project also includes the refurbishment and upgrading of the existing conventional signalling-relaying system, and localised construction works on sections of the Athens-Thessaloniki-Promachonas axis.
