Implementation of TSIs in ŽSR conditions

The primary reason for the implementation of the project for the implementation of the comprehensive interoperable system ŽSR is to meet the requirements arising from the European Commission Regulations on the Technical Specification for Interoperability (TSI) relating to the subsystems ‘telematics applications for passenger transport’ (TAP) and ‘telematics applications for freight transport’ (TAF) from the point of view of ŽSR (as infrastructure manager) as well as the requirements defined in the Master Plan of ŽSR. The implementation of the above Regulations will ensure the interconnection of railway national networks within the EU according to TSIs and integrate the information and communication systems of the different infrastructure managers and carriers. The unification of telematics applications in rail transport is a key factor in ensuring the quality of international rail services, especially in the growing segment of international freight transport. In ŽSR, as part of the implementation of the requested project, the set-up of in-house processes which fully corresponds to the functions of the TAF/TAP TSI subsystems shall be ensured. This presupposes the achievement of overall interoperability of the Slovak railway infrastructure as well as the facilitation of access of other European carriers to the Slovak transport market, which in turn will be reflected in the increase in rail transport performance. In view of the overall implementation of interoperability, the following is required:         Technical and operational security of TSI TAF/TAP processes (currently lacking clear identification of TSI TAF/TAP and part of data messages), Monitoring and forecasting of traffic development, ordering of capacity and routes, Support of operation itself – operational and basic traffic planning, allocation of railway path and train path capacity, real-time track of train movements, development of electronic data, Standardised data exchange between IMs and carriers across the EU.
