Slovak Republic, Modernisation of the railway line Púchov ilina, for route speed up to 160 km/h. Stage I (Púchov Pova Skáplá)

Subject of the project: “ŽSR, Modernisation of the railway line Púchov – Žilina, for line speed up to 160 km/h. — Stage I (Púchov – Považská Teplá)' means the modernisation of the existing two-track railway line 106A Kraľovany – Púchov in the section Púchov – Považská Teplá, and railway stations situated on this section: Považská Bystrica ŽST and Považská Teplá ŽST, while the Považská Teplá ŽST will only become a stop after modernisation. The first implementation stage is divided into five complete parts of the building: UČS 00 Púchov ŽST, Žilina ŽST, UČS 44 track section Púchov – Považská Bystrica, UČS 45 ŽST Považská Bystrica, UČS 46 track section Považská Bystrica – Považská Teplá, UČS 47 Považská Teplá ŽST. The line in question lies on the state border UA/SK – Košice – Kysak – Poprad – Tatry – Kraľovany – Žilina – Púchov – Nové Mesto nad Váhom – Trnava – Bratislava, which forms an important rail transport link between Eastern Slovakia and the western Slovak northern route through Žilina. This route is significant in terms of routing traffic flows in both domestic passenger and freight traffic east-west and vice versa and north-south and vice versa. In addition to national significance, there is also a strong international (European) importance, as the line 106A Kraľovany – Púchov is based on the axis of one of the main corridors of the trans-European transport network (TEN-T), by which the European Union has defined important routes connecting important points of interest within the European area. The TEN-T aims to create a single internal market in order to ensure a more competitive economy, quality and developed transport infrastructure, more employment, the sharing of transport work in favour of more environmentally friendly transport modes, lower greenhouse and polluting gas emissions, better road safety, fewer congestion, fewer road accidents and less damage to property and health arising from them.
