The subject of the project is the extension of the urban section of the provincial road No. 553, i.e. ul. Chełmińska Highway on the section from the North Diameter Route to the street. Field in Toruń. Chełmińska Highway runs through the so-called. The Old Bridge Route – one of the most important elements of the town’s skeletal road system in the north-south relationship. This project is a continuation of the reconstruction of the Old Bridge Route, which took place between 2009 and 2015. Both the route and the location of its most important connections make the Old Bridge Route a route of strategic importance for the city and region. In addition to the important function of the exit route, it is extremely important to link the route to the network of national roads, thanks to which the provincial road connects the regional transport system and enables the integration into the system of national roads and TEN-T networks. The scope of the project also includes the construction and reconstruction of intersections, lighting, bus bays, acoustic screen and underground armament to the necessary extent, as well as modernisation of railway crossings and planting of trees and shrubs. Deadline for implementation of the project: December 2016 – June 2018 The total value of the project is: 26 965 000,00 PLN gross Qualified expenditure: 26 965 000,00 PLN gross Applicable amount of co-financing: 16 179 000,00 PLN (60 %) The above project carried out by the Municipality of Toruń has final administrative decisions necessary to start material implementation, i.e. the decision on environmental conditions and the decision to authorise the implementation of the road investment. The implementation of the project is also financially secured. Currently, a tendering procedure is underway to determine the contractor for construction works.
