The planned project includes creation at the Department. It’s AEI Pol. Sl. interdisciplinary doctoral studiesApplied Integrative Data Analysis (AIDA) in English internationally, with information as a leading discipline. Three specialisation groups are planned: (1) Modelling and Simulation of Complex Dynamical Processes – with additional disciplines automation, power engineering or mining; (2)Big Data Analysis – related to banking, social sciences and human sciences and astronomy; and (3) Bioinformatics – focused on the use of computer science in biology and medicine.AIDA doctoral studies will be four years (38 ECTS, 268h: lectures, practical workshops, seminars + 120h internship). There will be 30 PhD students who will be recruited in accordance with the drafted regulations. All participants of AIDA doctoral studies will have the same course of training, and at least 24 will complete their PhD studies in the period until 31 August 2022.The support will include incentive scholarships, financing internships industry. in partner companies and internships in the country. The planned activities will also include the development and organisation of lectures, including lectures conducted by invited eminent academics from partner universities, workshops and seminars and PhD groups of the project. Mentoring will be guaranteed by a promoter and appointed for each PhD student of the Advisory Board.The topics of 60 doctoral projects have been selected and developed at the stage of preparation of the application on the basis of letters of intent submitted by partners (46 universities including 19 Polish, 24 companies).Each planned doctoral projects are associated with at least one other scientific discipline, and has an industrial partner and/or partner university or research institute related to the topic.
