This project includes the modernisation of part of railway line No. 8 on the section of the Warsaw Okęcie – Radom railway line in the area of the Local Control Centre Warszawa Okęcie and the Local Control Centre Radom (hereinafter: LCS Warszawa Okęcie, LCS Radom). The aim of the project is to improve passenger transport on rail line 8, to improve the environment of line 8 and to increase the use of rail transport in passenger transport. Section Warszawa Okęcie – Radom (in the part covered by LOT A, B, F) is part of the railway line No 8 Warszawa Zachodnia – Kraków Główny Osobowy, which is a passenger and freight line of state importance, as defined in the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 17 April 2013. The project is included in the document “Master Plan for Rail Transport in Poland until 2030”. The project is strategic in terms of socio-economic development of the country and is in line with the second strategic priority of the CRC: “Improving the state of the technical and social infrastructure”, the third horizontal objective of the NSRF: “Construction and modernisation of technical and social infrastructure essential for the growth of Poland’s competitiveness” and the main objective of the OPI: “Improving the investment attractiveness of Poland and its regions through the development of technical infrastructure while protecting and improving the environment, health, preserving cultural identity and developing territorial cohesion”. These objectives will be achieved mainly by modernising: track and subtrack systems, modernisation of railway traffic control systems and systems, modernisation of the overhead contact line with power supply, platforms, as well as modernisation of existing and construction of new engineering facilities.
