The project involves the reconstruction of DK-1 (national road in the TEN-T network) on a section with a length of approx. 5.5 km from the junction from the street. John Paul II (without a junction) to the intersection with ul. Rakowska (with a knot). DK-1 in its course within the city limits connects with DK-46 (crossing not covered by the project) and with DK-43 (crossing covered by the project, intersection of ul. Jagiellonianska from Al. Peace – mileage of the DK-1 existing overpass). The aim of the project is to address capacity shortages on DK-1, increase accessibility of urban areas (city accessibility), reduce the burden of excessive traffic and improve road safety.
