The planned project consists of the construction of the Southern Warsaw Bypass from the “Puławska” junction to the “Lubelska” junction and is located in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, in the capital city of Warsaw (distributors: Ursynów, Wilanów and Wawer) and in the municipality of Wiązowna in the district of Otwoce. The project consists of three tasks: • Task “A” – Design and construction of the S2 expressway – South Warsaw Circuit on a section from Puławska junction (without no junction) to Przyczółkowa junction (without a junction) with a length of approx. 4,62 km; from km 0 + 433.71 to km 5 + 086.05 • Task “B” – Design and construction of the S2 express road – South Warsaw Circuit on the section from Przyczółkowa junction (with a junction) to the node Miedzeszyński Wał Miedzeszyński (with a junction) with a length of approx. 6,45 km; from km 5 + 086.05 to km 11 + 789.51 • Task “C” – Design and construction of the S2 express road – South Warsaw Circuit on the section from Wał Miedzeszyński (without a junction) to Lubelska junction (without a junction) with a length of approx. 7,45 km; from km 11 + 789.51 to km 18 + 949,95. A two-way cross-section with three lanes, a dividing lane and an emergency lane, adapted to the projected traffic level, is provided throughout the road, with the exception of task B, where a wider cross-section was allowed locally. The field reserve established in the project allows the extension of the cross-section of the road to 4 lanes in each direction. The section of the S2 expressway analysed is the target part of the network of the most important European connections constituting the TEN-T network. The S2 expressway on the Puławska section – St. Lubelska is part of the trans-European transport networks and is located in the core TEN-T network in accordance with the EP and COUNCIL Regulation No 1315/2013 of 11.12.2013.
