Increasing energy production from geothermal resources by achieving / modernizing production capacities and transport networks - distribution of thermal energy from geothermal energy

The overall objective of the project is to increase the production of energy from renewable sources in order to improve the quality of air, water and soil by reducing the degree of pollution caused by the combustion of fossil fuels used for the production of thermal energy, as well as reducing the financial costs of thermal energy. - OB 1: Modernization of the thermal energy production and transmission system in Călimăneşti locality - OB 2: The project aims to implement a solution for the supply of thermal energy for heating in a centralized system, using less exploited renewable energy sources, namely geothermal energy, given the high potential in Calimanesti. Thus, it is intended to modernize the existing plant and equip it with new and efficient installations and equipment, to perform drillings for geothermal water extraction and injection of thermally used geothermal water, to realize geothermal water transport pipelines and to realize a thermal energy distribution network, the project contributing majorly to the achievement of specific objective 6.1, namely to increase the production of energy from less exploited renewable resources (biomass, biogas, geothermal), distribution. The LIOP strategy focuses on sustainable growth by promoting a low-carbon economy through energy efficiency measures and the promotion of green energy, as well as by promoting environmentally friendly modes of transport and a more efficient use of resources. The LIOP addresses development needs in four sectors: transport infrastructure, environmental protection, risk management and adaptation to climate change, energy and energy efficiency, contributing to the Union strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth by financing 4 of the 11 thematic objectives of Regulation 1303/2013. Due to the fact that through this project it is intended to implement a solution for providing heating in a centralized system based on geothermal energy, the project also contributes to the achievement of thematic objective no. 4 by supporting the production of energy from renewable sources, energy efficiency measures, the introduction of smart technologies.
