A new recycling plant is being built at the former military airfield (GPC Business Park Carstensen since 2009) in Eggebek. From 2021, old wood, green waste as well as construction, demolition and excavation waste will be recycled here. The core of the plant is a wet treatment plant for the treatment of previously unrecyclable construction, demolition and excavation waste. For construction and demolition waste, the plant achieves a recycling rate of almost 100 %. The recycling rate of the total input volume (including soils) is about 90 %.
