Achieving the best possible sustainability of modern technologies is a key task that not only decides on long-term ecological and economic success – but also increasingly on social acceptance. With this project, the ZfM combines three approaches to the development of sustainable technologies that can only be successfully pursued with adequate infrastructure. Two approaches focus on future technologies in the field of energy conversion and storage (solid-state batteries and hydrogen as energy carriers) and one approach focuses on physical space research, specifically alternative propellants for electric space propulsion that enable cost-effective and resource-conscious use of satellites.
