Support for municipal planning structures in poverty prevention

The districts and district-free cities in Thuringia are supported by the Institute for Municipal Planning and Development in practical implementation and development of tailor-made strategies and concepts for poverty prevention as well as for the integration of new immigrants after the professional creation and political anchorage. In this further development of sustainable and individual concepts of integrated, cross-sectoral, interrelated planning processes and in the development of short-, medium- and long-term control measures, the districts and district-free cities are scientifically supported. For this purpose, municipal actors are guided and accompanied in the three areas of “requirement and supply analysis”, “consultation and strategy development” and “qualification” on technical and methodological issues and in the further development of networked and coordinated social planning. The qualification of the specialist staff as well as the strengthening of inter- and intra-municipal network structures are important building blocks of the institute’s targeted support tailored to the needs of local authorities. In the coming years, the focus of the project will be on the implementation of the concepts, the development of an understanding of quality and impact for sustainable use and the thematic focus of the individual projects.
