Short description of the measure “Praxis-oriented vocational orientation in the school year 2019/2020 in the district district of Saale-Orla-Kreis (Lot 12)” in the Bildungszentrum Saalfeld GmbH Target group/number of participants/school types The measure carried out by the Bildungszentrum Saalfeld GmbH offers students from grades 9 to 11, who are preparing for the university entrance qualification, a practical support for their career selection process. The offer is designed for the following schools: State Gymnasium “Am Weißen Turm” Pößneck State Gymnasium “Christian Gottlieb Reichard” Bad Lobenstein Measure objective and content The measure serves to optimise the transition from school to education or study in the STEM sector. Students should gain an overview of the breadth of STEM offers and be empowered to make a well-founded decision to choose a subsequent student internship. Practical experience is taught within the scope of professional field surveys and professional field trials, carried out gender sensitive and takes place outside the school in the vocational training centres and in companies. The aim is to strengthen the readiness to choose a profession and to improve vocational choice skills by enabling pupils to use the gained knowledge to further shape their career path plan. The measure “practice-oriented vocational orientation” provides the grammar schools in the Saale-Orla district with state or free sponsorship an offer of support for practical vocational orientation. The offer is based on the “Landing Strategy for Practical Vocational Orientation in Thuringia” and is financed by the School Promotion Directive from the European Social Fund. The support offer is complemented by the complementary measures “Transitional Coordination” and “Practical Test Methods for Potential Analysis in Thuringia”. In addition to the regional labour demand, the selection of the offered occupational fields is based on the “Trend Atlas 2020” for the Free State of Thuringia as well as on the “Skilled Personnel Perspective Thüringen 2025” and complies with the eligibility criteria of the ESF School Promotion Directive. The Bildungszentrum Saalfeld GmbH offers practical experience in the following professional fields: Professional fields: Focus on Construction, Architecture, Surveying: Landscape Architecture Technology, Law and Security: Safety electric: Electrical Energy Engineering/Automation Technology Medicine, Psychology, Care and Therapy: Rescue Computers, Informatics, IT: Media informatics metal, mechanical engineering: Metal construction/mechanical engineering, technology fields: Energy Technology/Food Technology Transportation, Logistics, Transportation: Logistics Glass, paints, varnishes, plastics: The project will be carried out in the workshops, specialist cabins and classrooms of BZ Saalfeld GmbH at the sites Unterwellenborn, Maxhüttenstraße 14, 16 and 21 as well as in Saalfeld, K.-Kollwitz-Str. 2 and 2 a, Bahnhofstraße 6 a and Am Steiger 10 respectively. In addition, regional practice partners from the field of health care/care facilities are involved in the project implementation. The concept for the implementation of practical vocational orientation was confirmed for the school years 2017/2018 to 2019/2020. The application is made separately for each school year and the period for 2019/2020 covers the period from 19.8.2019 to 31.7.2020.
