The training association ‘Green Professions’ South Thuringia e.V. offers the apprentices of the member companies from our 3 training groups Hildburghausen, Schmalkalden-Meiningen and Sonneberg the opportunity to get to know subject-specific work processes outside of school education and to combine them with practical skills at the same time. All trainees of the member companies are invited to the supplementary courses. All genders (m/f/d) are treated equally and no distinction is made between nationalities and religions. Our planned supplementary courses will take the form of training days for apprentices in the professions of farmer, animal farmer and specialist for agricultural service in farms of agriculture. Apprentices are given the opportunity to record different work structures and agricultural work processes in a practical manner and under technical and pedagogical guidance. The selected topic is based on the prescribed training content, which are legally defined within the framework of the training regulations. A concentrated transfer of skills and skills by trained professionals contributes to an effective and extensive training. The supplementary courses are carried out according to time coordination with the vocational school, the teaching company of the individual apprentice and the instructor. In this year of training, the following main 1-day supplementary courses are included in the planning (only the supplementary course ‘MIlch/Melken’ is offered as a 2-day course): 1. Year of apprenticeship: — Feed beef: Feed quality, ration, feed management – milk/milk (2 days): Milking plants, practical hand milking, quality assurance Milk – calf and young cattle rearing: practical assessment, husbandry and feeding systems, rearing of young bovine animals – suckler cow husbandry: Basics, husbandry forms, herd management, marketing – scissors beef: Fittimg, practical scissors 2. Year of apprenticeship: — Sheep: Basics, lambs, marketing – pigs: Management Jungle breeding in practice, animal welfare indicators, prophylaxis measures for piglets – breeding cattle: Breeding association, bull catalogues, breeding orientation of the establishments – Feed science: Compound feed and composition, storage, processing, acceptance, laboratory, control – operational and road safety: Departure control on tractor, occupational safety, GPS supported agriculture 3. Year of apprenticeship: — Planting: Test station Hessberg, field ascent, laboratory – grazing: Grazing, grazing material, grazing disease, practice (calculation, bonbonture, animal)
