The port of Longoni is the main gateway to the department. Its functioning directly affects the health of all public and private structures in the territory. Beyond the need to ensure the strengthening of infrastructure in order to limit the risk of disruption of the port’s activity, the development of operating capacities in Longoni is a major lever for the economic growth of the territory. Wharf No. 1 of the port was the subject of various infrastructure surveys in 2015, 2016 2019 and 2020 highlighting important structural disorders incompatible with the objectives of use set by the Departmental Council of Mayotte. This wharf is currently closed to operation by prefectural order, needs to be repaired and strengthened to accommodate new and sustained shipping traffic. In line with the development prospects of its port, the Departmental Council wishes to undertake infrastructure renovations. The rehabilitation of this wharf is a highly strategic and priority project. The amount of the operation is estimated at EUR 15 759 083,07
