Sensing THE RIVER is an unprecedented project created by the Creatmosphere studio and produced by the ON festival (produced by the association Face B). Sensing THE RIVER will be presented for the first time to the public in Arles in October 2020 during the next edition of the festival ON and then in Lyon as part of the Mirage 2021 festival and in a more sustainable way with the specific realisation of an associated web platform and the creation of booklets distributed to the public during the installations. For Arles in October during the Festival ON 2020, and in spring 2021 as part of the Mirage festival in Lyon, Creatmosphere intends to respond in situ to the flood risks that the Rhône and Saône represent for these two cities in the context of climate change thanks to a highlighting of past scientific data, real time and prospective Rhône and Saône. Creatmosphere questions the possibilities of transformation of the landscape of the Arlesian and Lyonnesian shores by forming part of a research that takes into account the elements of the past to project itself into the future while looking at the present. Creatmosphere reveals the identities of cities in relation to their historic water infrastructure, illuminating rivers, bridges, water reservoirs, lakes and other dams, raising public awareness of the fundamental role of water in nature and related environmental issues.
