Operation CIMA (Centre d’Imagerie Multimodale Appliqué) consists of the creation within the CHU of an imaging center for preclinical studies. CIMA is the result of a cooperation between the CHU, the University of Nantes, INSERM, CNRS and the Grandes écoles (ONIRIS, Institut Mines Télécom). The operation is entered in the CPER 2015-2020. The future imaging centre will host 3 facilities: — a micro-TEP/micro-CT currently located in the ONIRIS laboratories which will be transferred to the premises of C.I.M.A., – a prototype micro PET-MRI (acquired as part of this operation), – a prototype XEMIS 2 camera developed by the Subatech laboratory of the Institut Mines-Télécom (ERDF file n°PL0023841). The originality of C.I.M.A. is to use imaging in all its modalities. The developments are moving towards an increasingly close collaboration between morphological and functional imaging and the search for new biomarkers. The operation complies with the selection criteria for Action 1.1.1 “Support to Research and Innovation Infrastructure and Equipment” of the ERDF/ESF Operational Programme 2014-2020. It is part of the smart specialisation of the Regional Innovation Strategy “Therapies of Tomorrow and Health”.
