VDL- Vaccines development laboratories

The project to build a building of vaccine development laboratories (Vaccines Development Laboratories, VDL). This new building is planned to bring together under one roof the activities of the Departments of Analytical Sciences (AS) and Development of Bioprocesses (BRD). The VDL project aims to mobilise the following innovation levers: disruptive technologies in biotechnology, efficiency of RD activities, reinforcement of RD skills, optimisation of costs and interconnection of scientists through daily cross-functional interactions. Because of its scale and level of innovation, the VDL project is in essence a vector of territorial attractiveness, particularly in terms of employment for the entire Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, hosting the main global players in the field of biotechnology and disruptive technologies dedicated to the R & D of vaccines and infectious diseases. C is in total, an investment of around 95 million euros to be made in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the implementation of the VDL project is planned to take place over 5 years, from 2019 until 2023. The project involves about 300 jobs on the site.
