Law No 2015-291 of 7 August 2015 on the new territorial organisation of the Republic makes the regional authority the central player in the economic development and attractiveness of the territory. In this context, and because it is experiencing a worrying unemployment rate, the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region gives itself the priority of leading the battle for employment and intends to lead in order to achieve this an offensive strategy that is reflected in particular in its political guidelines on vocational training and apprenticeships. At the heart of these guidelines is the desire to better adapt the vocational training offer to the needs of companies in order to boost employability in the regions and in particular to support the strategy of SMEs/SSEs who have to face the challenges of economic change. The Region intends to significantly improve the rate of access or return to employment for jobseekers after the training they have received. A strong commitment is expected from claimants in order to reach a minimum employment rate of 70 %. In this context, through the award of a contract with purchase orders for the implementation of the “strategic channels” scheme, the Region implements training measures (pre-qualifiing, qualifying or professionalising) and aimed at people who are unemployed, from 16 years of age and without qualifications.
