Deployment of very high-speed broadband phase 2 on Cher between 2021 and 2023

Telecommunications infrastructure emerged as essential during the health crisis. Having a large and high-quality flow at any point in the territory becomes absolutely necessary for the continuation of the activities. This operation is part of the territorial master plan for the digital development of the Cher, and aims to achieve the full coverage of Cher in very high throughput in optical fiber (flow greater than 100 Mbps); in order to respond to the challenges of the health crisis and the European goal of the Gigabit Society in 2025. After a first phase between 2016 and 2020, this project is to continue the deployment of a “FttH” fibre network to make eligible 14000 additional premises – and to initiate a first phase of the second phase of very high-speed fibre deployment over the period 2021 2023. This new phase corresponds to an independent functional section in the public fibre optic network that is gradually being built throughout the Cher department, excluding private initiative areas. The implementation of the project is carried out via a new concessive public service delegation (SPD phase 2).
