Construction of a territorial methanisation unit

ENGIE BiOZ (born from the merger of VOL-V Biomasse and ENGIE Biogaz) initiates, develops, builds and operates biomethane injection units in the French gas network. The Centrale Biogaz du Parc de l’Aise (CBPAI) is a project initiated since 2012 by Vol-V Biomasse in collaboration with the local partner Solaterra and the Community of Communes Combrailles, Sioule and Morge. The territorial methanisation unit will be built and operated by ENGIE BiOZ. It is located in the municipality of Combronde (63) within the Parc d’activites de l’Aise. It is a continuous dry methanisation process. The methanisation unit will be able to process 74 t/d (tonnage authorised by the ICPE Order) of non-hazardous waste of various origins: agricultural materials such as cattle manure and manure (50 %), materials from the agri-food industries (40 %) and communities (10 %). The objective is to produce renewable gas locally with a low carbon footprint and inject it into the natural gas grid, replacing imported fossil natural gas. More than 200 nm3/h of biomethane will be injected into the nearby GRDF network. The digestate resulting from the methanisation process, which has interesting agronomic characteristics, will be valued on the land of the farm partners of the project. The approach will be framed by a spreading plan.
