Modernisation of railway line No. 35 on the section Ostrołęka – Chorzele.

The project includes the modernisation of railway line No. 35 on the section from Ostrołęka station (km -0.748) to Chorzele station (km 56,768) with a total length of 57.516 km. Once the project is implemented, the technical parameters of the line will meet the requirements set out in Regulation No 1299/2014 of 18.11.2014 concerning the technical specifications for interoperability relating to the ‘Infrastructure’ subsystem of the rail system in the EU, to the following extent: — max. speed (passenger trains) – 120 km/h, – max. speed (freight trains) – 80 km/h, – permissible axle load: 221 kN. The scope of the project includes the total or partial replacement of railway surfaces, replacement of switches, modernisation of engineering facilities, platforms, level crossings, rail control devices and accompanying infrastructure. The project will contribute to the improvement of the technical condition and performance of the existing railway infrastructure, which will result in better use of the railway infrastructure through the possibility of launching new connections and increasing capacity for regional traffic. It will also increase the investment attractiveness and competitiveness of the region and counteract the marginalisation of problem areas, as well as reduce the negative impact of transport on the environment. The project will be run in the “design and build” system on the basis of the General Conditions of the FIDIC contract.
