THE V-CRASH PROJECT AIMS TO DEVELOP AN ORIGINAL CALCULATION PROCEDURE TO SUPPORT THE DESIGN AND CERTIFICATION (CBA APPROACH — CERTIFICATION BY ANALYSIS) OF NEW GENERATION VERTICAL TAKE-OFF AND LANDING AIRCRAFT BELONGING TO THE CATEGORY OF SO-CALLED URBAN AIR MOBILITY (UAM) VEHICLES, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO CRASH SAFETY PERFORMANCE (CRASHWORTHINESS).THE EXPECTED RESULT IS A RELIABLE AND EFFICIENT METHODOLOGY THAT ALLOWS PREDICTING THE STRUCTURAL BEHAVIOUR OF THE AIRCRAFT OR A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF THE AIRCRAFT DURING CRASH EVENTS TO INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF OCCUPANTS’ SURVIVAL, REDUCE SERIOUS INJURIES AND ENABLE THE AIRCRAFT TO EVACUATE SAFELY.
