THE PROJECT AIMS TO CREATE AN INTELLIGENT SYSTEM FOR MONITORING AGRICULTURAL CROPS BASED ON THE USE OF DRONES, EQUIPPED WITH SPECIALISED CAMERAS AND SENSORS TO ACCURATELY MAP CROPS, ASSESS IRRIGATION NEEDS, IDENTIFY THE DEGREE OF PEST INFESTATION AND DETERMINE IN ADVANCE THE POTENTIAL RISK OF ONSET OF PHYTOPATHOLOGIES. THE USE OF DRONES WILL ALLOW YOU TO EXPLORE CROPS AT A FRACTION OF THE COST AND AT A LEVEL OF SPACE AND TIME SCALE PRACTICALLY UNATTAINABLE BY SATELLITES OR TRADITIONAL AIRCRAFT. THE DRONES WILL TRANSMIT THE INFORMATION COLLECTED TO A PROCESSING AND ANALYSIS SYSTEM THAT WILL CONSTITUTE THE INTELLIGENT AND EXTENSIBLE SOFTWARE CENTER ON WHICH THE MONITORING AND FORECASTING ALGORITHMS WILL BE IMPLEMENTED. THE PERSONALISED INFORMATION SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE CLOUD WILL BE AVAILABLE THROUGH COMMON WEB-ENABLED DEVICES (E.G. PC, TABLET, SMARTPHONE).
