In recent years, the local government has promoted and developed projects and initiatives to transform Arganda del Rey into a more digital city, within a framework of smart development and sustainable financing. For example, initiatives on services, uses, maintenance, activities and urban improvement projects.Arganda del Rey faces several challenges. On the one hand, the need to obtain data, manage large amounts of information and have a robust architecture that allows you to publish all the information of a city of these characteristics correctly, integrating with the rest of the management applications of the organisation. On the other hand, exploit and communicate this information in real time, both internally and at the public level.The challenges facing cities today demand increasingly complex and demanding information systems. A single monolithic and closed system is not able to solve all the needs of cities. Therefore, systems of interoperable systems are necessary through APIs that allow interconnecting functionality and data through web services.80 % of the information that is generated or that already exists has a spatial component and the ability to have the geographical variable in municipal decision making is decisive to achieve most of the objectives of a smart city. Also, public administrations are fully aware of the importance of involving citizens in decision-making and doing so through usable, accessible and intuitive applications through more common channels of use such as smartphones, tablets or web pages. Transparency is one of the most important demands of citizens today, and administrations are aware that it is necessary to meet this need. However, on many occasions there are various procedural, organizational and technological obstacles that hinder this objective. Putting all initiatives and projects under the same umbrella that allows to involve all the actors involved in the Administration, provide a common horizon and therefore a better result fulfilling the objectives to make Arganda an even smarter city.
