This project aims to develop the road network by creating a modern communication path that ensures an adequate connection to the TEN-T network, with implications for the regional development of the Braila — Galati area. The specific objectives of the project “Building the express road Braila — Galati” refer to the construction of 10.77 km of new road and 2 bridges/passages/viducts (of which: 1 bridge over the canal irrigation at km 6+ 620 and a structure at km 10+ 963 type bridge/viaduct/passage). By achieving its specific objectives, the project will contribute to reducing the travel time between Braila and Galati and, implicitly, to increasing the mobility of the road infrastructure related to the TEN-T network, which is a financing activity within the LIOP, OS 2.1. The investment objective will lead to the achievement of the indicator at project level, namely "CO13-Roads: total length of newly built roads (ERDF)“and”CO13-Roads: total length of newly built TEN-T roads" through the construction of a new road sector with a length of 10.77 km, thus contributing to achieving the result indicator 2S11 — “Average travel time on the TEN-T road network”, as the implementation of this investment objective will lead to reduced travel time on the TEN-T road network by 4 % in the first year of operation. In addition, the implementation of the project will: — Creation of a viable alternative variant for heavy traffic on the national road DN 22B; Ensure a proper connection between Braila — Galati, as well as with the objective of Suspended Bridge over the Danube in Braila area; Ensure appropriate interconnectivity of the adjacent national road network; Ensure the improvement of traffic conditions in the urban areas crossed; Reduce the time to travel.
