Strengthening the capacity of public special education institutions in Dolj county in order to manage the pandemic situation generated by the Sars-Cov-2 virus

The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the capacity of public special education institutions in Dolj county in order to manage the pandemic situation generated by the Sars-Cov-2 virus in order to obtain an adequate capacity to manage the health crisis, by reducing the risk of spreading SARS — VOC-2 infection. The project aims to equip the three public special education institutions in Dolj County, subordinated to Dolj County Council (Special Technology High School “Beethoven”; School Center for Inclusive Education St. Vasile Craiova; The Special Secondary School of St. Mine Craiova), with protective equipment: medical masks, disposable medical gloves, visors, goggles, suits, disposable gowns, disposable boots and caps, biocides as well as solutions necessary to ensure hygiene and disinfection. Currently, the level of equipment with protective materials for the 3 schools is low and, consequently, their capacity to manage the health crisis is very low from the perspective of prevention and protection, given that this protection must be ensured, both to pupils (381 persons) and to teachers and auxiliary staff (665 persons). Given the extremely high contagiousness of the virus, which cannot be controlled in the absence of specialised protective equipment, both for pupils, teachers and auxiliary staff, it is necessary to take measures to prepare these educational institutions for the management of infections with the new virus, in order to prevent the spread of SARS — VOC-2 infection. Preventing the spread of this virus is essential, and the use of medical protection equipment to protect, both students, teachers and auxiliary staff, together with the use of sterilisation and disinfection solutions are part of the minimum basic package for protection but also to prevent the spread of the disease. After the investment of the LIOP, the 3 educational institutions subordinated to Dolj County Council will constitute stocks of protective equipment sized to be sufficient for at least 12 months, which will contribute to achieving a high level of protection, as the first condition for strengthening the crisis management capacity by these units. Consequently, the project ensures the proper equipping of the three special public educational institutions in Dolj County, for preventive purposes, with protection materials for pupils, teachers and auxiliary staff, in order to ensure adequate capacity to manage the pandemic situation generated by the Sars-Cov-2 virus
