The strategic objective of the project is to increase the connectivity and mobility of the area served by Avram Iancu International Airport Cluj RA through a large number of aircraft and implicitly the volume of passengers who will use the airport infrastructure, thus aiming to maintain its position as the first regional airport in Romania. This project contributes to the results that the Member State seeks to achieve through Union support by the fact that the project aims to modernise the TEN-T airport, contributing to the objectives of increasing regional accessibility and mobility, by investing in airport infrastructure and infrastructure connecting them to the roadside network, in a safe manner and in line with the environmental protection objectives. It is expected that the project will contribute to increasing the level of security and safety of passengers using air transport and aircraft operating at Avram Iancu International Airport Cluj, which ensures the increase of the level of confidence of air operators in terms of safe and safe operation at Cluj airport. This will ensure the maintenance of the trend of increasing air traffic at Cluj airport, thus confirming the confidence that both air operators and passengers have in the services offered by the airport. The aircraft stationing platform contributes together with other projects such as: New passenger terminal, Expansion of the take-off-landing runway 07-25, etc., at the modernisation and development of Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, this being the second major airport in Romania, due to the number of passengers transiting it and one of the main airports in Eastern Europe. The project is coherent with the Large Infrastructure Operational Programme (SOP), Priority Axis 2 — “Developing a multimodal, quality, sustainable and efficient transport system”, Specific Objective 2.3 — “Increasing the sustainable use of airports” and contributes to achieving the result indicators of Priority Axis 2, because it aims to achieve the results of this Specific Objective, namely providing a fast and safe transport service for passengers, thus contributing to the development and improvement of the air transport system of one of the 16 airports in Romania (according to AACR http://www.caa.ro/pages/registrul-unic-aeroporturi-aerdromuri-vfr-heliporturi). The project aims to modernise the airport (indicator 2S17), located on the TEN-T network (comprehensive), through the construction of a new aircraft stationing platform and contributes to the achievement of the LIOP result indicator — i.e. the expected increase in the number of passengers as a result of the project and the contribution to the target within the LIOP (indicator 2S13 — Passengers boarded and disembarked in
