The general objective of the project is to prepare the necessary technical and economic documents for the development of navigation and other uses of the Arges and Dambovita rivers. The overall objective of the project is in line with the objectives of Priority Axis 1 — mobility through the development of the TEN-T network and SIOS 1.3 metro transport. Increase the use of waterways and ports located on the TEN-T core network for projects supporting beneficiaries in the preparation of the portfolio of investment projects for the development of waterways and ports located on TEN-T CORE for 2014-2020 and post 2020 (where applicable). In Annex II — List of nodes of the core and comprehensive network of Regulation (EU) No 1315/2013, Bucharest is listed on the comprehensive network of inland waterways via ports 1 December and Glina. The development of the inland waterway network also envisages the arrangement for navigation and other uses of the Argeş and Dâmbovița river for connecting Bucharest directly to the Danube River, as presented in Map 9.1. — Annex I to Regulation (EU) No 1315/2013. Government Decision no. 666/2016 approved the strategic document “Master General Transport Plan of Romania”. Within the Master of the General Transport Plan — Section 6.6. — Waterways are intended to create a direct link between Bucharest and the Danube River and the creation of 104 km of waterway. The project is also included in Annex 10.41 — List of priority projects for the fairway, and after identifying funding sources, the implementation strategy of this project will be established.
