This project has the following general objectives: 1. Compliance with waste water treatment in agglomerations of more than 2000 EP, in accordance with Directive 91/271/EEC — respectively urban waste water collected and treated from the perspective of their biodegradable organic loading 2. Ensuring the quality of water intended for human consumption in accordance with Directive 98/83/EC — microbiologically controlled, safe and health-protected, for the population of municipalities with more than 50 inhabitants Specific objectives in the field of drinking water: 1. increasing the degree of connection of the population to the centralised water supply system and ensuring the health of the population and the protection/quality of the environment, by establishing water supply systems (making of water supply networks and pumping stations) 2. ensuring the quality and continuity of drinking water and ensuring the health of the population, by extending/rehabilitating/establishing 43 (forty-three) production drillings, raw water additions, potable water supply, expansion/rehabilitation/establishment of 10 (ten) Water Treatment Stations, extension/double water supply 20 (construction) 1. increasing the degree of connection of the county’s population to the centralised wastewater system and ensuring environmental protection/quality by establishing sewage systems in agglomerations with over 2 000 p.e. (making of sewerage networks, wastewater pumping stations, including discharge pipes) 2. Increasing the level of collection and treatment of waste water and complying with the legal requirements regarding environmental protection, construction of 4 (four) new wastewater treatment plants The project contributes to the socio-economic development of the area by: Creating jobs both during the implementation period (580 temporary jobs) and during the operating period (32 permanent jobs within the OR) — Boosting private investments and tourism in the rural area — creating the premises for the development of the project area ec. Access to safe and quality water and sanitation services will stimulate companies, investors and developers to invest in the project area. It will also contribute to creating jobs and additional incomes to local budgets, useful in developing communities and improving the living conditions of the population — Reducing the risk of pollution of soil and groundwater and improving the quality of the environment — Improving living conditions and reducing the risk of disease in rural areas by developing/establishing wastewater collection systems and ensuring the supply of quality drinking water — Functional improvement with the help of centralised SCADA and by increasing the capacity for intervention in case of damage — Sustainable development of the area: Reduction of losses in systems
