Increasing the capacity to manage the SARS-COV-2 pandemic situation at the High School with Sports Program “Cetate” Deva

Increasing the capacity of the “CETATE” SPORT PROGRAM to manage the health crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, by purchasing medical protective equipment necessary to prevent the spread of SARS-COV-2 infection. By achieving its overall objective, the project contributes to the achievement of the programme result indicator, i.e. provides adequate care and treatment capacity for cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection, including the management of the health crisis. Through its objectives and proposed activities, the project falls under priority axis 9, namely Protecting people’s health in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic, contributing to the achievement of investment priority 9a — Investing in health and social infrastructures contributing to development at national, regional, and local level, reducing inequalities in health status, promoting social inclusion, improving access to social, cultural and recreational services, and shifting from institutional to community-based services. Thus, achieving the overall objective of the proposed project for funding implicitly contributes to the achievement of Specific Objective OS 9.1 — Increasing the capacity to manage the COVID 19 health crisis. Also, by achieving its overall objective, this project will create for its beneficiaries the prerequisites for acquiring a level of education that allows them access to a qualification and implicitly to a job, thus avoiding entry into the category of people at risk of poverty. From this perspective, the project is consistent with the proposals communicated by the European Commission’s Letter No.Ares(2020) 1847818, while contributing to the overall objective of the Europe 2020 strategy “Smart, sustainable, inclusive growth by focusing on job creation and poverty reduction.” The project contributes to the real indicator of the outcome of LIOP 2S132 — Adequate care and treatment of cases of SARSCoV-2/infection to manage the health crisis. Prior to the LIOP intervention, this capacity is limited. By equipping with protective equipment that will be used directly for both infection prevention and in the treatment of COVID-19 infection, the patient’s care and treatment capacity will be improved. The intervention capacity implies an increase in the possibilities to prevent the infection of pupils and school staff.
