Expanding medical response capacity in the event of epidemics, pandemics and multi-victim events

Objective: 2S132 — Adequate care and treatment capacity for cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection to manage the health crisis. The purpose of this project is to increase the response capacity in emergency situations, by equipping with mobile medical facilities for diagnosis, treatment and intensive care, to prevent and combat the effects of epidemics and pandemics at national level. Due to the significant increase in the number of cases of coronavirus infection, major problems have been identified in the management of patients in hospitals equipped with intensive care beds. On 11.4.2021, according to the public statement of the Minister of Health, only 6 beds of ATI were available in Romania. Many intensive care departments in hospitals have only been converted to manage coronavirus-infected patients, leaving patients with serious health problems unable to be treated. At any time, an infected patient can degrade his or her health and evolve and need to be admitted to the intensive care unit. There are currently 1532 ITA beds available for patients infected with coronavirus. Through the acquisition of the modular hospital and the 2 mobile intensive care self-trailers, the capacity will increase by 324 beds. For this reason, the endowment of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations is necessary for Romania to have the full capacity to treat all patients and to overcome these critical moments well.
