Airport equipment for snow removal/de-icing/anti-icing of movement surfaces and determining the degree of braking

The overall objective of the project is to ensure a high level of safety during the conduct of civil aviation activities at the airport and to continuously improve safety measures in accordance with the MPGT strategic document and Regulation (EU) No 139/2014 laying down technical requirements and administrative procedures related to aerodromes, avoiding delays and thus avoiding financial damage. On the other hand, the implementation of the project aims to increase the level of safety of passengers, their attendants, airlines and staff operating in the perimeter of the International Airport “Avram Iancu” Cluj R.A. The air transport infrastructure of Romania aims to offer the regional centers a fast means of transport to the capital and to other regional centers. Air transport is an important means of ensuring domestic and international connectivity. The network of motorways in Romania is still in development and the fastest railway line is subject to speed restrictions, air transport being a preferred option for domestic long-distance transport, in cases where for short journey times and not necessarily the transport cost is the critical factor. In view of the expansion of the movement areas, i.e. the increase in the operating frequency of the aircraft to which optimal conditions must be ensured on the moving surfaces, the intervention time of the moving surface maintenance equipment (summer/winter) must be minimal in order not to disturb the slots allocated by airports to aircraft or air operators, so that the purchase of these equipment will reduce the time for performing specific operations to an acceptable time, taking into account environmental protection measures. The acquisition of airport equipment for de-icing/de-icing/compiling the movement surfaces and determining the degree of braking is made taking into account the following environmental protection measures: saving substances for de-icing, with a view to better environmental protection; large quantities of substances that can be loaded onto the equipment will reduce the intervention time because the equipment needs to be recharged often in case of adverse weather conditions; it reduces fuel consumption and thus contributes to the protection of the environment and air quality by significantly reducing CO2 emissions and other harmful emissions. The number of flights and passengers registered at “Avram Iancu” International Airport Cluj R.A. is increasing with a major impact on the forecasted air traffic demand. Air traffic from and to Romania creates economic benefits, in this sense it is imperative that the expansion of the airport is necessary.
