The subject of the project is the construction of the D48 motorway in category R 25,5/120 with a length of 4.316 km. This is one of the stages of the set of buildings of the Frýdek — Místek bypass. The D48 motorway is part of the TEN-T trans-European road network and connects the long-distance international route Brno — Hranice — Frýdek — Místek — Český Těšín with connections in the direction of Poland and Slovakia.
