EU L 187/1 of 26.06.2014).The dynamic increase in demand for green energy, including natural gas, also leads to an increasing demand for systems for safe supervision and operation of transmission lines. The aim of this project is to develop a non-invasive system for diagnosing the tightness of gas pipelines. Having regard to the research area – gas pipelines extend throughout Poland, it was assumed that such a task would be carried out through a system consisting of the air subsystem – a manned helicopter with HCMethaneCore infrared spectroradiometer and implementation of hyperspectral data analysis methods to detect the presence of methane. HCMethaneCore, together with specialised methane detection software, are placed on a rotating stabilisation platform suspended under the helicopter. A component of the air subsystem, in addition to the testing apparatus, is a measurement mission planning module in the form of a digital set installed on board, computationally recording the measurement data. In turn, the ground subsystem will consist of a hyperspectral data analytical module, a module for the management, processing and storage of inspection raid data and the generation of inspection reports. It should be emphasised that regardless of the system described above, the project will create a testing ground based on solutions used in nationwide gas pipelines, allowing to simulate damage to transmission lines for the purposes of research carried out by the air platform.
