The project consists of preparing a draft law implementing the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities with the proposed name: The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) obliges States Parties to this document to take all measures to implement the provisions and monitor their implementation, as well as to disseminate their provisions in the awareness of citizens, including citizens with disabilities. The ratification of the UN Convention therefore imposed a permanent obligation on Poland to remove the barriers faced by persons with disabilities in the implementation of their rights. The implementation of some of them requires legislative or educational measures. The development and subsequent adoption of the Law on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities will serve to ensure a more complete opportunity for every person with disabilities to exercise the right to a dignified and independent life by supporting the implementation of the provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and strengthening the existing mechanisms of implementation of the Convention. The importance of processes affecting communication and information accessibility is also expressed in the Strategy for Persons with Disabilities 2021-2030 as well as in the Accessibility+ programme.
