Local economies are key to local economic prosperity. Although local economies are recovering, they still face unprecedented challenges. Public / anchor institutions are responsible for significant amounts of spend on goods and services in their locality. Creating a Good Local Economy through Procurement (Procure) will explore how to harness the spending power of these institutions using procurement to bring about economic, social and environmental benefits for businesses and people which in turn will have a positive impact on the city and its local economy.
