The common challenges of the area which are tackled through this project : - criminal activities, - illicit smuggling of goods (mainly tobacco), - organized crime, - the growing incidence of cybercrimes, - the absence of an instrument for a cross-border communication channel for police services between Romania and Republic of Moldova, a low level of IT&C competences/collaborative work/information analysis of the law enforcement staff in both countries, citizens dissatisfaction regarding quality of police service/the accessibility of public areas in police buildings and lack of a common cross-border strategy in the field of public order, prevention and fight against crime. The overall objective of the project is to enhance the E.U.’s Eastern border security by increasing the mobility and administrative capacity of police and border police units, as well as by common training of police and border police personnel from Romania and the Republic of Moldova, in the perspective of European inter-operability.
