JRC-20-CHARACTERISATION METHODS AND STANDARDS FOR NANOPARTICLES FOR BIOLOGICAL, MEDICAL, AND FOOD AP
THIS DESIGN ACTIVITY AIMS AS THE FIRST OBJECTIVE TO DEVELOP ROBUST AND REPRODUCIBLE PROCEDURES FOR THE PREPARATION AND COMPLETE CHEMICAL-PHYSICAL-STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISATION OF ORGANIC-INORGANIC HYBRID NANOPARTICLES (NP). SECONDLY, THE PROJECT AIMS TO DEFINE RELIABLE METHODOLOGIES FOR THE ANALYSIS OF NM IN COMPLEX MATRICES SUCH AS FOOD OR BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS. THE LONG-TERM OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT IS TO DEVELOP PROTOCOLS OF GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICE FOR REFERENCE MATERIALS THAT CAN BE USED IN THE NM TOXICOLOGICAL STUDY OF INTEREST IN THE BIOMEDICAL AND FOOD FIELDS. THE PROJECT WILL BE CARRIED OUT IN COLLABORATION BETWEEN THE UNIVERSITY OF TRIESTE AND JRC ISPRA IN VARESE.
