THIS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT PURSUES A COMPLETELY NEW STRATEGY TO SUSTAINABLY REUSE WASTE FROM THE SPINNING PROCESS, REGENERATING ITS TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS, TO PRODUCE, THROUGH ELECTROFILAMENT, OR MICROFIBRES THAT CAN BE TWISTED AND THEN INSERTED INTO FABRICS, IN THE FORM OF FILAMENTS, THROUGH A PROCESS OF CORE SPINNING. IN ADDITION, ONCE THE TECHNICAL OBSTACLES THAT HAVE HITHERTO PREVENTED THE REALISATION OF SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS ON AN INDUSTRIAL SCALE HAVE BEEN OVERCOME, IT IS ENVISAGED THAT FIBRES PRODUCED IN THE UNION MAY BE PRODUCED WITH BIODEGRADABLE ADDITIVES IN ORDER TO MAKE YARNS AND FABRICS FOR TECHNICAL USES OR WITH HIGH ADDED VALUE (E.G. WITH ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTIES OR CUTTING RESISTANCE OR ABRASION OR FLAME RETARDANT IDROFOBICITÃ CHARACTERISTICS, ETC.). IN THIS WAY IT CONTRIBUTES NOT ONLY TO THE RECYCLING OF RAW MATERIALS BUT EVEN TO THE INCREASE IN THE VALUE OF THE RAW MATERIALS (UPCYCLING). MAIN OBJECTIVE
