Roma inclusion

For centuries, Roman existence in Sweden has been marked by discrimination and exclusion. This has contributed to the fact that even today in the Roma group there is mistrust of authorities, an overwhelming low level of education and difficulties in establishing oneself in the labor market. There is a strong link between education level, employment rate and income. People with a lower level of education have difficulty establishing themselves in the labor market and therefore experience greater difficulties in influencing their own life situation. Being without a job is strongly correlated with stress and ill health. Being low educated also affects the next generation, research shows that there is correlation between student performance and the level of education of their parents. The target group of the feasibility study is mainly those Romani people with a low educational background who are excluded socially and economically and furthermore exposed to discrimination. The target group generally has low levels of education with obvious consequences in the labor market and self sufficient. Within the feasibility study, a compilation of previous investigations and research will be made. The feasibility study will take place in close collaboration with the target group and other partners and result in a depth problem analysis of conditions at individual and structural level to give the group the opportunity for basic education and access to the labor market and provide proposals for initiatives as well as measures to take. The feasibility study can be linked to two of the thematic areas in the announcement; economic vulnerability and establishment in the labor market
