The Project LIKES aims to lower the barriers for work in Södermanlands County where unemployment is among the largest in Sweden. It is primarily people with a foreign background and people with a low level of education whom the Project aims to facilitate their entry into the labor market for. With the Project LIKES we intend to create and develop an effective match between employers´ need for Labour force and the Labour force that is available efter gradutation. There is a lack of effective matching today. Educations that have been offered today do not meet employers´ need, which lead that unemployment remains even after the education is completed. When vocational educator and employers design and implement the education together, the opportunity for more effective matches increases. LIKES starts with the employers´ needs for Labour force, primarily in the municipalities where the sub-projects occur, but also private companies will take part of the project´s results because some of the educated people will end up working there. The occupational areas with the greatest need for Labour force, both today and in the future, are Health and Social Care and Child Care and School. The purpose of the Project LIKES is to strengthen occupational areas where work opportunities exist and in collaboration with employers create and stimulate structured and long-lasting solutions for vocational education for adults. The main purposes with the Project LIKES are: 1. To secure and provide right skills for occupational areas where there is a lack of Labour force. Those areas are primarily Health and Social Care and Child Care. 2. To find and develop effective structures that provide work possibilites for unemployed people and that also lower the barriers for their entry to the Labour market. 3. To develop and implement a well functional model for validation of foreign competence. 4. To create and implement an effective educational concept where both employers and vocational educators are responsible for every step in the process from education to employment. The main pillars of the Project LIKES are gender equality, inclusion for all and non-discrimination that will permeate every process of it. The project LIKES consist of five sub-projects that are located in six different municipalities in the county. 1. The sub-project in the Municipality of Eskilstuna, 2. The sub-project in the Municipality of Strängnäs, 3. The sub-project in the Municipality of Nyköping, 4. The sub-project in the Municipality of Flen 5. The sub-project in Viadidakt that is a joint management of adult education and labor market initiatives in municipalities of Katrineholm and Vingåker.
