The project offers up-skilling for employees within the elderly, disabilty and child care professions within the City of Stockholm. Through a job rotation scheme, persons who lack previous training/experience and with short term contracts had got and get up-skilling to a basic level and are available to the organisation as replacement staff. Staff with permanent contracts but lacking formal competence had got and get up- skilling to the formal competence level required for a sustainable employment within the City. Their places of work can get replacement staff to cover the shifts for the permanent staff while these are getting up skilled. The project had also trained supervisors at the work places where the replacement staff works to ensure the quality of their placement period there. The project’s experiences from the implementation of the above investment in vocational education are used. In the extension of the project, the employees will receive competence development in Swedish with a focus on communication and documenation in order to be able to carry out their regular tasks. During the autumn of 2021, a digital education in vocational Swedish will be created based on the emploees’ conditions and needs of the work places, which will be tested in the spring of 2022.
