Svenljunga and Tranemo are two small municipalities that during the last few years have received a great number of newcomers. These municipalities do not have the same pre-conditions as municipalities in urban areas to provide flexible and individually adjusted activities and actions for the target group to comprehend and learn Swedish in order to approach the labor market. The target group is or risk ending up in exclusion. The main objective of project Nytänk is “Women and men, with additional focus on women, who are taking part of/have finished the introduction assignment, has through alternative and flexible methods like strengthened cooperation, better knowledge about their new life in Sweden and new knowledge about their own health, comprehended and learned Swedish, resulting in bringing the participant closer to inclusion on the labor market and reduced the risk of long lasting exclusion”. The target group is women and men, 20-64 years who are taking part of/have finished the introduction assignment and for different reasons has not comprehended and learned Swedish with great progression, leading to exclusion from the labor market with risk of long lasting exclusion from the society. Identified problem areas have been translated to four targets of the project: 1. Develop and test more flexible and individually adjustable forms of language learning/education/work or language placements 2. Strengthen cooperation between stakeholders who works with the women and men in the target group 3. Increase participants understanding and knowledge about society and cultures, My life in Sweden, with additional focus on women 4. Increase participants knowledge about health, with additional focus on women The project will be owned by labor unit department of Svenljunga and Tranemo in cooperation with the local Employment agency and other municipal departments working with the target group.
