The labour market impact of the coronavirus crisis is relatively high for young people. They have fewer chances of having a first job, and where they do have work, this is often in sectors that have been hard hit by the crisis, such as the hospitality industry and the retail sector. With this ESF REACT project, the VSO/Pro schools in Zeeland together with municipalities, RMC and UWV are committed to helping vulnerable young people through this crisis time. Among other things, they work together to guide young people to work or further education and to ensure appropriate aftercare. With the regional chain partners, extensive cooperation with industry is being established, where it is essential that there is sufficient guidance for both the young and the employer. In consultation with the employers, connection with practical learning is sought. Practical learning is well applicable for school leavers in order to facilitate the transition to work by allowing them to obtain practical statements demonstrating their competences.
