Testing ground 5Groningen; improve, broaden &Amp; connect

With the project ‘Proeftuin 5Groningen, improve, broaden and connect’, the partners of the test garden 5Groningen want to lay a solid foundation for the future. With the help of the co-financing requested, the bottlenecks in the already existing laboratory will be solved in order to preserve the relevance of the laboratory for the innovation ecosystem of the Northern Netherlands. A testing ground where entrepreneurs, governments and education can address issues and develop innovative products related to wireless, mobile 5G applications, but also 6G and beyond in the future. The lead is taken by a leading group of four knowledge partners who have a solid footprint in the North of the Netherlands: TNO, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, University of Groningen and EBG. Together with the other testing ground stakeholders KPN, Vodafone/Ziggo, Huawei, Dell/VMWare, Agency Telecom, Surf and in the future also Noorderpoort and Alfa College, work is underway to improve, broaden and connect the test ground 5Groningen. One of the ambitions is to establish a permanent facility for the North Netherlands, an innovation centre for wireless &Amp; mobile applications embedded in the curricula and research lines of the knowledge partners.
