The project concerns a new subsidy scheme, the VIA 2020. This subsidy scheme follows the Innovative Ambitions 2019 Versneller (VIA 2019). The success of this scheme led to the continuation of this subsidy scheme. The VIA 2020 is for SMEs in the provinces Drenthe, Fryslân and Groningen and aims to stimulate innovation and valorisation.North Netherlands has a relatively large number of SMEs. In order to boost the economy in the North of the Netherlands, it is important that SMEs innovate. By applying knowledge, innovation is possible and this should lead to the development of new products, services and processes and the renewal of the organisation.
